The 2005 KRC Awards Dinner

Presenting the Sol Hoffman Award honoring Irwin Aronson Esq. and William Hughes

The Sol Hoffman Award is presented to individuals for outstanding service to KRC and to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Irwin Aronson Esq, of Willig, Williams, and Davison, is a founder of the Keystone Research Center and recognized from the very beginning its potential to be a catalyst for institutional changes that would catch up with the shift to a New Economy

Bill Hughes, of Kathie’s Christmas and Collectibles, is also one of the founders of the Keystone Research Center and its President and CEO throughout its first decade. His leadership and support played a pivotal role in helping KRC sustain and expand its efforts."

The Sol Hoffman award is given in memory of Sol Hoffman who was for many years a vice president of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and chair of its health care committee. He was a leader in building a dynamic and progressive labor movement in the state and served in many community organizations, including the Pennsylvania Human Relations Council, the Occupational industrial Council, the NAACP, ACLU, Red Cross and Urban Coalition.

A lifelong supporter of public education, he became a trustee of William Paterson College (now William Paterson University) in Wayne, New Jersey and eventually became Chairman of the Board.

Sol Hoffman was one of the founders of the Keystone Research Center.
